To enhance, develop and promote opportunities for seniors in the greater Crosslake area.

Our mission is to function as a non-profit operating in the long-term best interests of seniors in the greater Crosslake area by developing new opportunities and enhancing access to existing services providing opportunity for joint promotion.

• Function as a non-profit organization operating in the long-term best interests of seniors, supported primarily by  volunteers, and assisted by health and wellness providers.
• Enhance access to senior services that connect existing providers with users.
• Develop new opportunities and services to meet the needs of seniors in the Crosslake area including senior volunteering.
• Promote all new and existing opportunities for Crosslake area seniors through creative and unified communication efforts.

As the baby boomer generation enters the golden years, Minnesotan’s are living longer and healthier lives. In fact, life expectancy has increased to age 81.  Crosslake, MN is home to a population of more than 2,600 and 44% of us are 65 and over, while 65% of us are 50 and over.  (Source)

A group of community leaders began meeting to discuss this topic and asked how do we work together to best support this growing segment of our population. A vision was created to enhance, develop and promote opportunities for seniors in the greater Crosslake area.

The group created Crosslake Area Senior Services, Inc, doing business as CROSSLAKE CARES, and is now an operating 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the goal of connecting area seniors to information that helps improve their lives.
